Html5 Pacman: A Beginner's Guide

This one sticks pretty close to the maze-muncher formula you already know, but with 70 levels stacked up, it stops being a five-minute distraction fast. No login, no download, just a browser tab and a maze full of dots waiting to be cleared. The pace picks up gradually, so don't expect the later stages to play nice just because the early ones felt breezy. Ghosts get smarter, paths get tighter, and your reflexes will need to catch up.

Control Scheme

• Arrow keys move Pacman up, down, left, and right through the maze.
• On phones or tablets, on-screen arrow buttons pop up automatically, so there's nothing to configure.
• Direction changes register at intersections, not mid-wall, so plan your turns a beat early.
• There's no pause button built into the controls, so treat every run as a commitment.

Top Tips

• Chase the big dots first when a ghost is closing in, not the small ones, they're your emergency exit.
• Once the ghosts turn blue after a power pellet, hunt them down before the effect wears off, that's free points sitting right there.
• Fruits are worth grabbing on the way past, but don't detour so far that you box yourself into a corner with two ghosts closing.
• Learn the shape of each maze before you worry about speed. Memorizing the dead ends matters more than fast fingers.
• Keep an escape route in mind at all times. Ghosts don't need to catch you at the center of a corridor, they just need you to run out of options.
• Since your score carries over to the Leaderboard once you finish, it's worth playing a level or two cautiously just to build confidence before you go for a real high-score attempt.
